    The State Theatre Center For the Arts in Uniontown is home to the famous ghost of J. Fred Osterstock. He managed the company that owned the theatre until his death and he is remembered every year with the FREDDY Awards for high school theater students.     The historic Mishler Theatre opened its doors back in 1906. It was purchased by the Altoona Community Theatre and the Blair County Arts Foundation after it was considered for demolition in the 1960s after not being used for quite some time.     This historic theater opened in 1906. It was designed for Isaac Charles (Doc) Mishler who owned and managed the Eleventh Avenue Opera House.
