Grand Midway Hotel

This location once operated as a hotel for over a century but now may be privately owned. Witnesses have reported a wild apparition that resides here and makes itself known by throwing chairs, smashing bottles and even pushing people. The apparition is believed to be a man who died here over a century ago during a bar fight. A young woman's apparition has also been spotted, with curly hair, wandering around the hotel and speaking to people. She is believed to be a prostitute who was walled up and left to die on the second floor. Room #003 is supposedly the room with the most activity, where the statute of a nun has been known to move around on its own. It has even appeared in people's dreams, speaking to them. The Canopy Room is another spot that is rumored to be extremely haunted, where a defiant female spirit resides, providing cold spots in the room. The "Professor" is the last known ghost to reside here, and he has been seen in the second floor office, reading quietly.

This place is awesome! It's super creepy! My husband and I stayed overnight last month. I was scared back up to my 3rd floor room from the knocks, banging and footsteps that were coming from the stage area on the bottom floor. The canopy room had a high energy. If you're looking for paranormal activity you'll find it here.

I have never seen anything, that's not how I roll. But I have felt them and heard the *chatterings*, I never felt alone there, by myself. I never encountered anything hostile, I also never visited certain rooms. Out of respect. I won't exploit a trapped, possibly confused energy for my amusement. I aim to tread with peace and respect. Again, that's why I'm *not sure* if I'd *recommend to a friend*. Ghosts aren't a thrill-ride at a carnival. Watch Ju-On, pay attention. (Magick and the paranormal are just science which hasn't been discovered yet)
