Built in 1911, the stone house is said to be the most haunted house in America with many well-documented accounts of haunted events. Haunting incidences include lights going on and off on their own as well as other events involving electricity like the alarm system activating and calling in the police. One of the most haunting aspects about the house is in the Blue Room where a blue chair sits. There are at least three recorded deaths that occurred within a two-week timeframe of individuals who sat on the blue chair. It is now believed that anyone who sits on the chair will die shortly after. Among the several ghosts that live here include that of Thomas Jefferson. Witnesses say he often appears near a tall clock in the dining room.
