Tillie Pierce House Inn
Gettysburg, PA 17325
Named after Matilda J. "Tillie" Pierce, the inn is reportedly haunted by several ghosts. Tillie lived at the inn during the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. She watched the Union army come through the town, she provided soldiers with food and water, she even assisted nurses and doctors caring for wounded soldiers. Her account of the historic event is documented in a book she wrote called "At Gettysburg, Or What A Girl Saw and Heard Of The Battle."
Guest who have stayed at the inn can account for its hauntedness. Some have reported hearing people walk above them in the attic, others claim the feeling of someone sitting on the bed watching them, and then there's the soldier who walks down the stairs, enters a room, and then goes back up. The most haunted place in the inn is said to be the Blue Room.

We stayed in Nov 2021. My husband heard foot steps in the middle of the night and I had a ghost cat rub up again my bare leg on the bathroom.

In broad daylight a mans heavy bootsteps walked through the front door and directly to the back of the house, down the hallway, all the way through the parlors into the Fanny suite we were renting and straight up to the bed we were standing in front of,and stopped. In front of us, nothing happened! After we gathered ourselves we went out for the day, that night was even more interesting, the bootsteps were on a hardwood floor and slow, like a tall man walking slowly, and we realized there's a carpet runner! Very spooky experience and pleasantly unexpected, totally going back!

thoroughly enjoyable experience, Pleasant and very helpful staff,, sitting on the back stairs early hours of the morning might not be everyone's Idea of fun, but for me it was heaven and intend to return in the very near future.
