Moravian College

This college dates back to the 1700's and was a girls' seminary and hospital in the 1800's. The place is rumored to be haunted by a ghostly nurse and a bandage patient who like to wander the halls. Other buildings on campus are believed to have ghosts as well. At Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority House, once an estate house in which the maid Alicia became pregnant by the owner. When he found out Alicia was pregnant, he threw her down the stairs (since has been removed). The maid's ghost is said to haunt the building, turning the attic lights on and off, turning over pictures of men and making eerie sounds. At Comenius hall, the building's namesake is said to linger as a light that moves back and forth on the top floor. The Music Building is believed to be haunted by a Revolutionary War-era nurse and Rau Dormitory is haunted by three ghosts of people who hanged themselves here in the 1960's. Reports of banging and scratching sounds are said to comes from the walls at night at the Wilhelm Dormitory.
