Also known as ESP, this former American prison was in operation from 1829 to 1971. It held notorious criminals like bank robber Willie Sutton and Al Capone. Today it is said to be haunted by those who once stayed here.

Ghost include that of James Clark who died under orders of Capone in the Saint Valentine's Day massacre and guards who worked the Guard Tower. Of all haunts at this location, Cell Block 12 is said to be the one to feature shadow mass figures.

Guests can experience the haunted prison on a tour or at special events offered year round. As of 2014, visitors can witness “The Big Graph,” a massive info-graphic structure illustrating incarceration rates over 120 years, as well as trends in U.S. corrections policies.

  • very intriguing

I've been here for the day tours and the haunted attraction usually at least once a year. It's where my husband and I had our very 1st date, so this place holds a lil extra something special to us (yes, we are weird lol). Both tours are great, the day tour is very interesting and informative, while the haunted attraction is very scary...especially since the place itself is still scary and intimidating in itself!
