PAHauntedHouses.com recently sat down with Eric Lusk of Hellstead Manor, to discuss what's new at Hellstead Manor for the 2025 Halloween Season!

What's new at Hellstead Manor for 2025? Do you have any new rides, attractions, or special features that Haunt Seekers should know about?

New scares. Something dark lurking in The Wretched Woods, but we can't give it all away.

What are you most excited about for the 2025 Halloween Season?

The new entertainment area. Our new FX makeup artists and the new Wretched Woods scare.

What differentiates Hellstead Manor from other local haunts in Pennsylvania?

Hellstead Manor is a one of a kind story based haunted attraction with a real house, with real history. All of the props are handmade by me, Eric Lusk. I worked in Hollywood before moving back home to Pennsylvania. When I was in Hollywood I won an Emmy for working on the TV show "House". Non of the props are store bought. They are all hand created and made by me along with the set designs and set dressings.

How long has Hellstead Manor been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about Hellstead Manor's history?

10 Years
In 2015 we bought the house and property from my wife's grandmother. 2016 Hellstead Manor open it's doors. The actual house was built in 1851.

What's your favorite experience since opening Hellstead Manor?

Watching our guests get frightened by our resident creatures and listening to their stories when leaving. I love hearing the excitement in their voices and it makes me happy to know they had fun!

How long is a typical haunt experience at Hellstead Manor from start to finish?

About an hour

On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say Hellstead Manor is? Why?

I would say 11 because some of it is real. Some people don't get past the queue line in The Manor after they hear the story (which some of the details are real and some details are written for Hellstead Manor and are added for entertainment purposes only).

Does Hellstead Manor's property have any real haunted history? Do you have a spooky encounter you'd like to share?

Yes
While I was working in the attraction, a music box started playing music and some of the dolls were moved when nothing was turned on and no one was around.

What inspired you to open up a haunted attraction? What's your favorite part of the business?

My wife and I are from the area. We moved to Hollywood after we got married. That is where I learned special FX and makeup. We moved back to PA when it was time for our kids to start school and in 2015 we bought The Manor and the land from Michelle's grandmother. My love for Halloween and the creepy old mansion with my ideas using my sFX skills created the vision for Hellstead Manor. It is really special that I am able to bring Hollywood to Hallstead with this one of a kind original haunted attraction to my hometown. It is my passion to create monsters that look real, share my love for Halloween with others and frighten them along the way.

How has new technology (i.e. animatronics, special props, etc) helped you to enhance Hellstead Manor?

Special lighting makes some of the scenes more dramatic.
Animatronics help bring our custom one of a kind creatures to life.

Can Hellstead Manor accommodate large groups? How many people can experience Hellstead Manor together as a group?

Yes we can but when it is time to go through we split you up into Groups of 4 or 6 to walk through the attraction so everyone can experience all of the frights that we have instore for them.

Anything else you'd like to let us know about Hellstead Manor?

For 2025 we are celebrating 10 years of TERROR! We are not like any other haunted attraction in our area. Free Parking. No Gate Fee. The Cat's Kitchen Food Truck, Clearly Bigfoot local vendor, other special guests and Free Movie. Merchandise for sale. Fun night for all! We also host special events.
This past summer we hosted and Alien Bigfoot Wedding!!!! You just never know what is going to happen at Hellstead Manor. Scare you soon!
